natures exhale.
We’re in the early days of September, and lessons of exhaling have already begun to show.
The first evening of the month, we had a pretty heavy rain. As I went out for a walk the following morning, the streets and yards were scattered with fallen leaves— a sure sign of autumn, but also an energetic shedding with the assistance of the rain.
Have you ever run out in the pouring rain, stumble inside with cool skin and wet eyelashes, and suddenly feel a sense of euphoria wash over you? That feeling of being washed clean. Of old energy being released, leaving behind a sense of renewal.
Maybe the trees feel the same.
How beautiful that nature knew the seasonal timing for a release and also had the assistance of another element to allow a deeper shedding (release of leaves) that no longer serves the trees in this upcoming season. If nature can lean into its intuitive wisdom in that sense, we should be able to do the same.
As we continue moving toward cooler days and leaves gathering on the earth, allow yourself an opportunity to reflect on your personal nature and what might be naturally falling away.
where are you being called to exhale?
What season of your life are you actually in—and are you allowing yourself to be there?
What parts of summer—physically, emotionally, or energetically—are you ready to leave behind?
If the trees don’t question whether they’ll have enough without their leaves, what might you be willing to trust yourself to release?
What would it feel like to trust that releasing something doesn’t mean losing it—it means making space?
If you took one deep breath in and gave yourself permission to release something completely on the exhale, how would that feel?
What would you like to feel more of this fall—and what might you need to exhale to make room for it?
As you follow natures shift, lean into the natural permission to soften and release. If you are seeking assistance (cue the rain), I would love hold space for you in a class this season.
With peace,
Makiyah
